Aligned with CBSE norms and the holistic, competency-based approach of NEP 2020, our assessment framework ensures that every child’s progress is monitored comprehensively and meaningfully.

Assessment Structure: Classes I–IX & XI

To ensure balanced and progressive evaluation throughout the year, the school conducts the following assessments:

📘 Periodic Test 1 – May

Focuses on conceptual understanding and basic application of knowledge.

📘 Periodic Test 2 – July

Continues to strengthen fundamentals and evaluates retention and comprehension.

📘 Half-Yearly Examination – September

Covers the syllabus of the first two quarters and includes:

📘 Periodic Test 3 – November

Assessment Structure – Classes X & XII

At Saraf Public School, the assessment framework for Classes 10 and 12 is designed to ensure consistent learning, timely revision, and strong preparedness for Board Examinations. The session includes:

📘 Periodic Test – May

Establishes academic baseline and strengthens fundamental concepts early in the session.

📘 Half-Yearly Examination – September

Evaluates 50% of the syllabus to monitor academic progress and identify improvement areas.

📘 Pre-Board I – November

First full-syllabus assessment on the Board pattern to develop exam familiarity and time management.

📘 Pre-Board II – December

Reinforces conceptual understanding and bridges learning gaps through detailed evaluation.

📘 Pre-Board III – January

General Rules for Assessment

To maintain fairness, transparency, and academic excellence, the following guidelines apply to all students:

Attendance Requirement

Minimum 75% attendance is mandatory in each term.
Medical exemptions may only be granted in genuine cases, but absence beyond 10% will not be considered.

Mandatory Exam Schedule

Assessment dates and timings are final and non-negotiable.

Academic Integrity

Use of unfair means will result in zero marks and disciplinary action.

Progress Reports

Reports will be issued only on the officially notified date.

Promotion Criteria

Students must secure a qualifying grade in both scholastic and co-scholastic domains as per CBSE and NEP norms.

Final Decision

All promotion decisions lie with the Principal, in compliance with CBSE and State Government guidelines.
