Clubs, Committees & ICT Program
At Saraf Public School, students are encouraged to pursue interests beyond academics, discover new passions, and develop essential life skills. SPS offers a vibrant array of clubs, societies, and digital learning programs designed to nurture confidence, creativity, critical thinking, leadership, and a sense of community service.
Whether a student is drawn to mathematics, public policy, arts, technology, robotics, or environmental causes—there is a place for everyone. Our co-curricular structure ensures that each learner finds an activity that aligns with their strengths and aspirations. Beginning the academic session 2017–18, SPS introduced an expanded set of clubs to help students explore, grow, and excel in areas that inspire them.
CLUBS & SOCIETIES AT SPS
I. MATHS CLUB – The Mathletes
The Maths Club inspires curiosity and joy in exploring mathematical ideas. Known as “The Mathletes,” the club offers students an exciting platform to delve into challenging concepts, puzzles, and competitions.
Weekly meetings help prepare students for inter-school and national-level events, sharpening their problem-solving skills, logical reasoning, and numerical agility.


II. MODEL PARLIAMENT
Designed for students of Classes IX–XII, the Model Parliament is ideal for those who enjoy debate, public policy, leadership, and national issues.
Participants step into the shoes of:
- Parliamentarians
- Cabinet Ministers
- Members of the Supreme Court
- Delegates representing different states
Students draft bills, debate policies, pass resolutions, and engage in mock parliamentary sessions. Training includes learning parliamentary procedures, improving argumentation skills, and staying updated with current affairs. Guest speakers and experts enrich the experience, helping students understand how democracies function.



III. ART CLUB
The Art Club brings creativity alive on campus. Open to all students—whether budding artists or simply art lovers—it aims to make art an integral part of school life.
Activities include:
- Visits to art galleries, museums, and exhibitions
- Interactions with professional artists
- Creative workshops and studio experiences
The club encourages students to appreciate art in all its forms and fosters a culture of expression, aesthetic sense, and imagination.


IV. ICT PROGRAM – A School of Online Learners
At Saraf Public School, technology is not just a subject—it is an essential part of the learning experience. SPS integrates ICT seamlessly into the curriculum to promote independent thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and digital fluency.
From interactive whiteboards in the primary grades to high-tech computer labs and multimedia tools in the senior school, our digital ecosystem empowers students to learn anytime, anywhere, with confidence and curiosity.
The SPS Portal – Smart Communication, Smarter Learning
Alongside the public website, SPS plans to introduce a specialized communication system for parents, staff, and students. The Portal will allow:
- Parents: to receive updates, notices, calendars, and information instantly
- Students: to access learning resources, assignments, and digital tools
- Teachers: to streamline planning, communication, and classroom management
This dynamic platform connects the entire SPS community, ensuring that learning continues beyond the classroom.
Beyond the Classroom – Clubs & Co-Curricular Excellence

From technology and debate to environmental stewardship, SPS provides opportunities for every student to grow, collaborate, and shine.





I. ROBOTICS CLUB
The Robotics Club at SPS inspires students to innovate, engineer, and compete. Open to learners with a curiosity for science, technology, and engineering, the club offers hands-on experience in designing, building, and programming robots for national-level competitions.
Structured into four specialized teams, students explore multiple facets of robotics:
- Build Team: Focuses on electronics, mechanics, and engineering concepts like gears, pulleys, and pneumatics.
- Programming Team: Develops code in C++ and other languages to operate robots autonomously or remotely.
- Publicity Team: Designs team branding, creates digital content, and documents the club’s achievements.
- Fund-Raising Team: Secures resources for materials, equipment, and competition registration.
Through teamwork and innovation, students not only master technical skills but also gain insight into engineering as a future career.



II. DEBATING, PUBLIC SPEAKING & CREATIVE WRITING
At SPS, the art of effective communication is cultivated across age groups.
- Debating: Students develop structured argumentation, logical reasoning, persuasion, and critical thinking. Teamwork, research, and attentive listening are emphasized. SPS debaters compete in school and regional competitions, tackling contemporary, philosophical, and ethical issues.
- Public Speaking: Students of all ages gain confidence and poise while presenting ideas in front of audiences, preparing them for academic, professional, and social success.
- Creative Writing: Workshops and competitions nurture imagination, self-expression, and storytelling skills. Students contribute to school publications and participate in regional and national contests, extending their voices beyond the classroom.
Through these programs, SPS empowers students to express themselves clearly, think critically, and influence positively.




III. ENVIRONMENT CLUB
The Environment Club is dedicated to cultivating responsible global citizens who care for their surroundings. Membership is open to students and faculty who share a commitment to sustainability and environmental awareness.
The club focuses on actionable initiatives such as:
- Waste paper collection drives and paper recycling programs
- Anti-cracker campaigns and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan activities
- Energy and water conservation, reduction of plastic use, and promotion of eco-friendly habits
- Promoting the use of steel lunch boxes, paper bags, and other sustainable practices
SPS Green Ambassadors pledge to integrate environmentally conscious practices into daily life, creating a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable campus.
